Benedum attends Southern Nationals tripleheader; Top-5 outing at Wythe Raceway
Joining the Schaeffer's Oil Southern National Series for their opening weekend, Mike Benedum joined a 26-car field at Beckley (W.Va.) Motor Speedway on Friday afternoon for the Black Gold 53.
Transferring to the $10,053-to-win show through his heat race, Benedum started 11th in the 53-lap feature and finished 15th.
Traveling to the very fast Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.) on Saturday, Mike chased another $10,053 payday and scored a Top-5 finish in fifth.
Wrapping up the weekend at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Sunday, Benedum made up four spots in the 40 lapper to finish 13th.
