Mike Benedum joins Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Smoky Mountain Speedway
Fresh off his trip to Eldora Speedway, Mike Benedum made the trip to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon for the first night of the Mountain Moonshine Classic.
With 42 Lucas Oil Super Late Models signed in, Benedum qualified 11th-quickest in his stacked group before picking up the final transfer spot in his heat race. For the $10,000-to-win opener, Mike recorded a 17th-place finish.
Finishing sixth in his heat race on Saturday, Benedum needed a Top-3 finish in his B-Main to make the $50,000-to-win finale. Despite a valiant effort, Mike came up a few spots short.
