June 25th, 2016 - Mike Benedum Visits Lernerville Speedway for Firecracker 100
1Back behind the wheel of the Sweet Bloomquist Car, Mike Benedum made the trip to Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pennsylvania) for the 10th Annual Firecracker 100. With the weather raining on all the events scheduled for Thursday night, fifty Super Late Models signed in Friday night for the two-day special. With the field of fifty getting separated into two separate groups, Mike posted the second fastest time in his group behind Dale McDowell. Recording a runner-up finish in his heat behind Frank Heckenast Jr., Benedum earned an 8th place starting spot for the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature. Suffering a flat tire on the very first lap, Mike was able to get the tired swapped out but fell back to a 25th place finish in the A-Main.

1On Saturday afternoon the luck didn’t get much better for Benedum when he broke in qualifying bringing an early end to his second session.

1Getting the car back in shape for his heat on Saturday night, Benedum placed 7th sending him into the B-Main. Coming from the 6th place starting spot, Mike stormed to a consolation win earning him a 17th place starting spot for the $30,000-to-win Firecracker 100. June 18th, 2016 - Benedum Runs in Mechanical Issues at Ohio Valley Speedway
1Mike Benedum visited Ohio Valley Speedway (Lubeck, West Virginia) on Saturday night for the American Motor Racing Assocation (AMRA) sanctioned Jim Dunn Memorial. In a field of forty-four Super Late Models, Mike experienced mechanical issues early in hot-laps and was never able to battle his way back into a transfer spot for the $12,000-to-win A-Main.

June 11th, 2016 - Mike Benedum Makes Both Preliminary Features at Eldora Speedway
1Kicking off the 22nd Annual Dirt Late Model Dream, Mike Benedum headed to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday night for three-day UMP DIRTcar sanctioned event. With seventy-two cars signed in, Benedum fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a 6th place outing. Starting on the 3rd row of his B-Main, Mike improved two spots landing a runner-up finish behind Dennis Erb Jr. securing his spot into the 25-lap opening night A-Main. Advancing four spots in the $5,000-to-win feature, Mike Benedum recorded a 18th place outing.

1On Friday night with a 8th place starting position for his heat race, Benedum worked his way into a transfer spot gaining three spots to place 5th. Starting in 18th for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Mike dropped one position in the 25-lapper logging a 19th place finish. (Heath Lawson Photo)

Wrapping up the Dirt Late Model Dream on Saturday night, Benedum was slated to start on the inside of the row five in his heat race. Sending the top three into the $100,000-to-win main event, Mike registered a 10th place outing giving him one more shot at the feature with a B-Main appearance. Needing a 3rd place spot or better, Mike Benedum fell back to a 15th place exit.
