Mike Benedum set out to enter a trio of event over the Fourth of July weekend. Action got underway on Wednesday night at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex (Markelysburg, Pennsylvania) with a $10,000-to-win program, which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. A stout field of thirty-seven Super Late Model registered for battle. Unfortunately Mike battled the handle on his #25 BSI Well Service/Longhorn/Roush Yates Racing Engine entry throughout the night, ultimately failing to reach a transfer spot into the 50 lap finale.
The ultra-competitive LOLMDS tour took the team to Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, Ohio) on Thursday night for another $10,000-to-win event. Thirty-three entries registered for the program, and a third place finish in heat race action locked Benedum into the ninth starting spot for the 50 lap main event. In the feature Mike battled amongst the top ten throughout the event before recording a ninth place finish at the checkered flag.
