February 14th, 2015 - Benedum Earns Career Best LOLMDS Finish in Winternationals
1The 39th Annual Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Florida) continued on Friday night with a doubleheader for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS).

Friday night's $10,000-to-win program drew a field of forty-one entries to the oval, and struggles in qualifying positioned Mike starting deep in a heat race. Benedum continued to battle the handle on his entry and would ultimately fail to qualify for the 50-lap finale.

Later that evening, the conclusion for the $5,000-to-win program that was washed away by rain on Monday was held. A fifth place finish in his heat race earned Benedum the 20th starting position for the 25-lappper. Mike went on to register an eighteenth place finish in the final rundown.

The 39th Annual East Bay Winternationals drew to a close on Saturday night with the $10,000-to-win finale, and a strong field of thirty-five entries would fill the pit area. Mike posted the sixth quickest lap in qualifications, which locked him into the third starting spot for the fourth heat race. He went on to finish fourth, earning him the sixteenth starting position for the 50-lap feature. In the main event, Benedum charged forward to a sixth place finish behind race winner, Billy Moyer, Don O'Neal, Jonathan Davenport, Jimmy Owens and Jared Landers.

February 12th, 2015 - Benedum Earns Career Best LOLMDS Finish in Winternationals
1Monday evening's program at East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Florida) was washed away by Mother Nature, pushing the start of the 39th Annual Winternationals back to Tuesday night.

Forty-two entries filled the pit area for the $5,000-to-win, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event. Mike fell one spot short of the transfer in heat race action, sending him to a B-Main. He later finish second in his b-main which locked him into the 20th starting spot for the 25-lap feature. Benedum advanced nine positions during the course of the main event to a solid eleventh place finish in the final rundown.

Wednesday night's LOLMDS program boosted a $7,000 top prize in the second round of the 39th Annual East Bay Raceway Park Winternationals. Forty-three Super Late Models were on hand for the event. Unfortunately, Benedum would battle the handle on his #25 BSI Well Service/Longhorn/Roush Yates Racing Engine entry throughout the night and fail to qualify for the 35-lap finale.

1Mike charged to a career-best Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) finish on Thursday night, overcoming his week-long struggles to earn a solid runner-up finish in the $7,000-to-win program. Benedum started his outing by posting the fifth quickest lap in Group B of LOLMDS time trials, earning him the third starting spot for his heat race. A second place finish in heat race action would position Mike starting sixth in the 45-lap finale. During the course of the feature, Benedum battled amongst the top five for much of the event before crossing the finish line in second behind race winner, Billy Moyer. February 7th, 2015 - Mike Benedum Opens 2015 with Georgia-Florida Speedweeks
1Mike Benedum officially kicked off his 2015 campaign on Thursday night with the opening round of the Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing at Golden Isles Speedway Park (Brunswick, Georgia).

The $7,000-to-win program, which was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), drew a field of thirty-three Super Late Models to the lightning fast oval. Struggles in qualifying positioned Mike starting deep in his heat race however, he would advance to a fourth place finish which locked him into the fifteenth starting position for the 30 lap finale. The LOLMDS sanctioned a $10,000-to-win program on Friday evening with thirty-three entries returning for battle. Mike earned the fourth starting spot for his heat race via time trials but slipped to a fifth place finish, sending him to a b-main. He raced to a sixth place finish in his b-main, which earned him the 22nd starting spot on the feature grid. From there, Benedum advanced six positions during the course of the 50 lap finale to record a sixteenth place finish at the checkered flag.

The Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing drew to a close on Saturday night with another $10,000-to-win event for the LOLMDS. Thirty-two Super Late Models converged on the 4/10 mile oval, and a strong qualifying effort positioned Mike starting fourth in his heat race. He slipped back to a fifth place finish which left him just one sport short of the transfer, sending him to a b-main. A third place finish in his b-main earn Mike the 22nd starting spot for the 50 lap main event. Unfortunately, mechanical issues during the feature forced Benedum to retire to a sixteenth place finish.
